When I first got my Blackstone griddle, the only pair of tongs I had were some souvenir ones that were made of flat metal and non-locking. This meant that if I was trying to grab a large chicken breast covered in a marinade, the arms would flex and wouldn’t hold the chicken. That doesn’t allow for efficient cooking routine. These are “C-shaped” arms and are much more rigid. These allow for a strong hold on whatever you’re grabbing onto.Additionally, most other tongs I’ve seen have double “scalloped” ends on them, but this set has one scalloped end and one spatula end giving you flexibility as to which side to use for getting under or around something.
