I really like these raised beds a lot. They were really well packaged and very easy to assemble, and I now have all three of them in my 10×10 city garden plot. I was pleasantly surprised by the gloves that came in the box. They seemed well made with padding at the fingertips. I really didn’t expect them to be that nice. I used them a little while tightening the screws by hand so I wouldn’t wreck my nails. I grouped the three raised beds in a straight line, and there is still enough space around them to do some direct planting. I plan to use the raised beds for all kinds of salad greens, purslane, claytonia, herbs and carrots. Last year, I direct planted the salad greens, and sometimes the weeds were mingling with the greens (it got messy fast), and it was difficult to tell what was what at times. I’m hoping with the raised beds I won’t have that problem. I’ll stick with direct planting vegetables like cucumbers, squash, tomatoes, and peppers. I chose the green-colored containers, and they looked the same on my computer screen as what I received. Nice color! My biggest issue was that I had no idea how much soil I needed to purchase to fill all three containers. That answer wasn’t readily available. I took a guess by looking at the bags. I only added cardboard at the base and filled each raised bed with soil up to about 2 inches from the top of the container. I used almost five bags of organic raised-bed soil, which filled all three containers (each bag was 2 cu. ft/56.6 liters per the details on the bag). I have a little soil left over from the fifth bag. It’s probably enough to fill a medium-size planter. I’m pleased with my purchase!
